Welcome

This is a place for thoughts that are too long for social media and too stirring and wistful within me to keep to myself entirely. For whatever they are worth, I hope you find them helpful to your journey.

I blame my wife for this.

She’s the one that has encouraged me to take a step back into the world of blogging.

A Little About Me

I am a lifelong resident of Riverside, CA, where I live with my wife and daughter, where I lead a local philanthropic public charity, and from where my wife and I run our consulting business, The Way Forward Solutions Group.

I am passionate about fostering the development of people and the economy in ways that eliminate historical divides and provide increasing opportunities for all people to thrive. At the top of my list of concerns for which I both advocate and roll up my sleeves are solving our housing crisis, social equity, permanently ending homeless situations, creating sustainable pathways out of generational poverty, advancing civility and civil discourse, and preventing and mitigating the impacts of Adverse Childhood Experiences.

I commit both personal and professional time to the sustainable development of socially focused organizations and empowering individuals to engage the common good within the community and serving as a certified Facilitator and Strategic Planner with the Institute of Cultural Affairs. I have enjoyed serving on numerous boards, councils, and committees and currently serve on the Board of directors for the Civil Rights Institute of Inland Southern California, Parkview Community Hospital, The Riverside Arts Academy, The La Sierra University Foundation , The Raincross Group , and CommonChange.org.

Recognitions of these efforts include the Riverside Human Relations Council’s Hero Award, The Inaugural Pick Group of Young Professionals Community Impact Award, The Inaugural CBU Young Alumni of the Year Award, and The Fair Housing Council’s Champion of Justice Award.

My Passions include economics, food/culinary arts, art in general, travel, music, theater, health, and integrated spirituality.

Outside of work and volunteer activities, I love spending time with my family in the kitchen cooking, in restaurants, on walks, hikes, runs or weightlifting, traveling, collecting art, enjoying music and theater, and cheering on my wife and daughter in all their activities.
